Intensive driving course faq perceptions

Intensive driving courses are generally thought of as take your first lesson on Monday and your driving test the following Friday. This was probably true ten years ago but now the driving test standards have moved on, which makes it extremely difficult to pass a driving test that quick if you are an absolute beginner. Driver training methods should have evolved to cope with the new driving test, but very few driving instructors have changed their tried and tested approach.

You can still pass your driving test in a shorter amount of time than you think, providing you are focused and have a great driving instructor who is both qualified and experienced in the type of focus necessary for you to pass your driving test. small girl The best way to learn to drive is to start at the beginning, allowing your instructor to coach you in a way that is both interesting and satisfying, as you see yourself develop into the driver you know you can become.
The expression that is used in day to day life:

A little knowledge is a dangerous thing - ignorance is bliss

is a very true phrase in learning to drive. Students who come to me to learn to drive and have had 'ago' with a friendfaq logo or relative have not always understood the basic concept of driving. (there are exceptions of course). A good qualified driving instructor has been trained in the art of explaining the driving process in a way that should be understood by the complete novice. The rule is start off driving with a professional driving instructor and then if you have the opportunity, practice with a friend or relative, not the other way round.
A good professional driving instructor will start you off in the right direction, then you can practice as much as you like..

Intensive driving course faq

How long does it take to learn to drive from scratch?
Depends on the individual. You should be looking at an average of 67 hours Check out the DSA guidelines

Why do you give 40 hour courses instead of 67 hour courses?
You will be learning a lot of new information and your brain needs time to absorb this new knowledge and you need to practice this new knowledge before it becomes easier to follow. Would you take a complex maths exam at school after only one week of classes, never having studied maths before?

What is the shortest time you could learn to drive in?
You can learn to drive in 7 days (40 hours). You will be able to move the car from A to B, carry out manoeuvres, deal with traffic lights and roundabouts, change all the gears. But it is unlikely that you will be so good that you could pass a driving test. For that to happen you will need to repeat and repeat and repeat your new skills until they become part of you. "You the new driver."

You can drive after 40 hours:But you may not pass a driving test:This calls for more mental toughness

I have never driven before, what is the shortest time period before I could pass my driving test?
If you are focused you can pass your driving test within 3-4 weeks. You first of all book a 40 hour 7 day course with me. Towards the end of the course you can see where you are heading and how you are responding to this new information. If you are responding well you could book your driving test for 2-3 weeks time and then take a further 2-3 days training immediately before your driving test. This method has produced outstanding results of 98% first time pass since January 2008. Most of my students who follow these guidelines pass in less than the 67 hours recommended by the DSA because they are taught using Quantum learning techniques

I am a very nervous person and frightened of traffic. Can you still teach me to drive?
Apart from being a professional driving instructor I am also a professional Life Coach and specialise in helping people to overcome their fears of anything in life, including driving. So you will be in safe hands. Take a look at my page on teaching nervous students to drive.
